haiku and I

Afterall finish my final project of college, i found that I dint write or post anything about working for eight months in katha. Where i worked on several things and saw innumerous things happening. The founder chairman herself is a bomb. At the age of -oops!! Never asked, but she is quite old. At this old age she is one energy source who’s running katha. She keeps the silent place alive and working. Worked with some wonderful people at katha who are trying to work hard and get things done from people who are just there to doze off or to stick at what they think is right.

Katha is a place where each and every woman is thinking, moving forward and taking katha forward with her and men are working without using their brains. Makes me proud that I was the part of that clan for a while :) find katha on facebook

Saw some beautiful art works of very inspiring illustrators from all over the world- to name a few wen hsu, Rajiv eipe, maya rmaswami, vandana bisht and saw Debasmita growing as a illustrator was very inspiring in terms of putting as much effort as one can put in doing what you really love.

Was part of the chirtakala workshop for writers and illustrators, where discussed and heard about children literature in india. Most inspiring was writer/filmmaker sameena mishra who talked about translation of stories and keeping the zayqa original of the story.

I majorly worked on the haiku books, one experimental book for children and other for adult group. The very-very beautiful haiku poems were written by kala ramesh, other beautiful and inspiring woman I got in touch with. You can read her here.

Working on her Indian haiku poems is one of the experiences I cherish most. The sensitivity of her poems changed me for good. Made me more sensitive and as they say made me to see the deep interconnectedness of our small world.

thank you
